Prof Zhang joined the school of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering on 3 January 2012 as an Assistant Professor.

Before joining NTU, he was a senior research engineer in the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and obtained his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University in 2007. Before that, he studied for his MS degree in NTU (SMA-IMST) and worked in HP-Singapore between 2001 and 2002. He obtained his ME and BE degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Shenyang Aerospace University in 2001 and 1998 respectively.
